What kind of conference? Academic, professional or business?

$25-30 is the price for general topics.

When I worked as an interpretor for fun, the NGO who hired me paid $60/hr. for classroom time, which is really drainy; and $50/hr. to accompany the trainees on site visits, which is relaxing and fun. They also invited me for a few meals and the parties. The trainees are government officials so I guess that made the difference on the pricing.

Anyway, you get what you paid for.

I have worked as an interpreter/translator for international conferences since I was in medical school. But I only do it during my free time. I don't mind the pay rate, for it is fun for me.  Networking is more important that monetory gain, good luck.
