Looking for J1 with children of elementary school age

I am a visiting scholar in Georgia Tech.

My son is seven-years old and stay with me here. Now it is time to go to elementary school and I am considering looking for an apartment near an elementary school.  Dose anyone (visiting scholar or students) have same experience or similar problem to find a school-nearby room?
