Whether from the beach or a boat, anglers need a saltwater fishing license in Georgia.
Saltwater fishing is a popular sport along Georgia's coastline. Tourists and residents alike may obtain a Georgia fishing license which covers angling in both freshwater and saltwater. A Georgia fishing license covers hook-and-line fishing, crabbing, gigging, seining and cast netting, plus gathering or harvesting any type of shellfish. Reciprocal agreements with other states regarding fishing in waters on the border do not apply to saltwater fishing.
