总统候选人Romney表示，若他当选总统，将不会进行大幅的税收削减，因美国需要走出赤字的阴影。
　　部分民众怀疑Romney的税收计划是不可行的。Romney希望通过削减支出同时保持税收收益中立，他或将削减收入所得税20%，同时利用废除某些费用和信贷减免来补足差额。
　　不过，近期的一份独立分析报告显示，这样的计划或将导致对富有者净税收的下降，而对中产阶层净税收的增长。
　　TaxPolicyCenter8月公布的关于Romney建议的独立分析报告并未就其计划给出官方评价，因部分相关细节并未得到确认。不过该报告对Romney的关键建议的影响进行了测试，包括20%的税收削减，收益平衡，废除替代最低税额以及维持目前储蓄和投资的税收减免。
　　报告还认为，即使罗姆尼完全废除目前对高收入家庭的税收减免，产生的净效应仍是高收入家庭的税收下降，同时，税收减免政策对于其他阶层的家庭的净效应是税收的增长。因此得出结论，Romney的税收平衡意图难以实现。

If you watched last night's VP candidates debate, you would draw the conclusion that Romney/Ryan is blowing smoke when they say they will not increase the deficit while cutting taxes 20% across the board.  The moderator pressed Ryan several times to ask him whether Romney/Ryan have any concrete ideas on what tax loop-holes they will plug.  Ryan never answered the question.

it can be achieved by cut spending at the same time.  Make the SS ane medicare spending revenue neutral which means that the benefit may be increased or decreased based on SS tax and Medicare tax revenue.  So it will put SS and Medicare out of general fund budget.  Then cut federal employee 20% and replace bottom 10% everyone year to improve the federal government efficiency.

The fiscal problem of our nation is not too little tax, but too much spending.

Romney proposes to cut 20% taxes across the board.  When people question that will add to federal deficit, he claims the cut will not reduce overall tax revenue.  As a counter measure, he will close the tax loop-holes to balance the cut.

When the moderator asked Ryan to give specifics on what loop-holes Romney plans to plug, he refused to answer.  When Biden said the Romney will eliminate mortgage deduction and some other tax credits, Ryan did not refute Biden's claim either.

I'll leave you to imagine what are the loop-holes Romney is referring to.

I will prefer a much simpler tax code.  The current tax code has too much social engeineering in it.  Each deduction favors one particular group tax payer to the other.  Of course, politicians love it since it gives them power to affect people's life.  Imaging, if your tax return is as simple as 1040EZ for tax filers, we can save a lot of time and money for more productive work.  As an added benefit, IRS could be reduced over 80% to save government money and reduce deficit.
