上周六，也就是4月10号，亚城人口普查志愿者活动M2M成功举办。而且我们的努力吸引来了凤凰卫视的关注，对我们的活动进行了报道。凤凰卫视是一家卫星电视频道，可以在全球范围内播出。全美这么多地区举行人口普查宣传活动，但是凤凰卫视选择了我们亚特兰大，可见我们的宣传活动影响力之大，这也是我们全体人口普查员和所有无私奉献的志愿者们共同努力，热情付出的结果。亚特兰大中华总会和亚特兰大IT协会对此次活动给予了大力支持。谢谢所有为社区活动无私奉献的朋友们！

为配合2010年人口普查，亚特兰大华人团体上周末组织了志愿者走入社区，进行了March to the Mailbox游行活动。
游行在华人居住比较集中的几个区域进行，亚特兰大中华总会，亚特兰大IT协会给予了大力支持。很多志愿者是首次参加宣传人口普查的工作，但并没有影响他们工作的热情。在各社区游行中，志愿者向当地居民派发了大量的2010年人口普查的资料。在游戏队伍中，最引人注目的，就是有些志愿者带来了小孩子。虽然体力没有大人的好，但这些小志愿者还是坚持走完全程，在活动中感受到为社区做出无私奉献所带来的乐趣。游行举行了将近两小时，取得了很好的效果。很多之前对人口普查有疑问的居民重新了解了这次普查的重要性，在志愿者的帮助下填写了普查表。据主办方表示，像这种走入社区的活动，让亚特兰大的华人组织与当地居民提供了很好的互动，既为社区做了实事，又丰富了华人朋友的生活，以后他们还将多多举行。

Last Saturday, April 10th, Atlanta successfully held the volunteer
activity for the 2010 Census called "March to the Mailbox" (M2M), a
last motivational push for non-responding households to fill out and
mail back their 2010 Census forms. The event attracted PhoenixTV, a
satellite TV station that broadcasts all over the world.

PhoenixTV chose Atlanta out of all the U.S. regions, which means our
movement was very successful and influential, and our efforts were
worthwhile.

Thanks to all the volunteers and friends who have given support to our
community!

To support the 2010 Census, Atlanta Chinese communities organized the
March to the Mailbox volunteer activity.

The parade was held in several areas where Chinese people congregate.
The Chinese Community Federation of Atlanta and the IT Association of
Atlanta provided much support for this activity. It was the first time
that many of the volunteers had promoted the census, but they promoted
it with great passion.They dispatched papers to residents and
explained how to fill out the forms. One of the most endearing things
in the activity was that some volunteers brought their kids. Though
these kids were not as strong as adults, they were also dedicated to
their task and stayed for the whole two-hour activity.

The activity allowed many residents who had problems with census or
didn't know about the importance of census to finish the census form
with the help of volunteers and understand its importance.

The organizer said that activity also created opportunities for
interaction between the various Chinese organizations and local
residents. The organization supported the community, and the members
enjoyed it as well. Movements like this should be held more often, he
said.
