agreed. i paid $149 in doraville last year. & waived points when i went to court ---before open, a police seat there & ask you for this processing. remember: now, government just want money instead of your history record.
long time ago some one sending me an email about ticket and I remember it likely said that:
You write a check with a little extra amount of the fine and mail in. You will then be returned a check with the extra amount. But you never go to bank to cash the check. And your record point will not be added. (This is likely putting your case pending I guess, but I never have tried this and thus not I am not sure if it works.

Don't pay online. It will give you points. If you go to court, you can ask judge to waive the points and pay same money (not more). If your historical records are good, you may pay less. I have such experence.
