How many Ipad2 can I bring in china without import tax?

I will visit Shanghai next week, would like to bring in two Ipad 2. One for my personal use, the other is a gift to family member. Can anyone advice what's China's restrition of bring ipad2 in and what's the tax rate if any. Thanks for your help!

Guys, there is no restrictions published in terms of how many you can bring. But for each iPad you bring, you need to pay 1000 rmb duty.

On the other hand, the reality is the chinese customs does not necessarily enforce it strictly. They don't necessarily check if you go through the green channel.

I have brought in several iPads during 2 trips, and they did not even look at me as I go thru the customs. I am talking about the shanghai airport.

So up to you if you want to take the chance.
