Calm down everyone. I contacted the embassy by phone earlier this year recarding the renewing of an expired passport (mine was expired last December), and the anwser was "as long as you do not use it (because you can't ), they do not care when you renew your passport". I am, too, waiting for embassy people to come to Atlanta someday.
