How College Choose Among Applicants (ZT)
Main factors in the order of importance):
1. The student's high shcool academic record
a. GPA (Grade Point Average)
b. Class Rank
2. The type of classes taken (AP, Honors, College Prep.)
3. Marked improvement in scholastic achievement from year to year.
4. SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) and ACT (American College Testing) scores
5. College Assay (if required)
6. Secondary School Report on students character and abilities as completed by the school counselor (if required)
7. Special abilities: art, music, leadership, sports
8. Service to the schooland community (community service becoming more important to manya colleges)
9. Extracurricular activities such as sports participation, band school newspaper, etc.
10. Letters of recommendation (teacher's recommendation is most important)
11. Personal interview (if required)
12. Neatness and accuracy of the application. |
