Job Description
Title: IT Project Manager - Web Development
Location: Atlanta, GA
Type: 9-12 Month Contract
Position summary:
It is an IT Project Manager for a 9-12 Month contract opportunity in Atlanta, GA. The PM will be responsible for managing medium to large complex IT projects and teams independently. He or she will have proven and demonstrated expertise in developing and monitoring project plans, risk management plans, and project documentation from scope to post implementation. In addition, they will ensure project documentation and deliverables are complete, on budget, within scope, and in accordance with standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall management of team and assigned projects, including coordination, status reports, and stability of the project work effort; manage financial, scope, and critical path for assigned projects.
- Accountable for managing scope, project finances and resources for complex projects
- Project management of IS Operations projects, regardless of where or how the project was initiated
- Where required, supervise departmental staff
- Provide vision and direction to the Director of PMO and IT Governance and manage vendor relationships
- Monitors resource requirements based on project specifications
- Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or key resources to meet customer needs and requirements.
- Coordinate communication with all enterprises areas that impact the scope, budget, risk, and resource of the project.
- Assist Program Manager(s) in partnering with senior management in the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities that utilize IT to achieve enterprise goals
- Focal point for interaction between all other IS groups and IS Operations, particularly as it relates to technology planning and project execution
- Some Business Analyst responsibilities may be necessary and assigned (requirements gathering, etc.)
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Computer Science or other related disciplines.
- PMP certification strongly preferred; willingness to earn PMP certification required within 12 months of hire required.
- 8 - 10+ years IT related field experience
- Solid track record of managing project related to Web Development projects (specifically e-commerce related)
- Strong Business Analysis skills
- Advanced knowledge and experience of major package applications software.
- Excellent knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to develop presentations and present to management.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business principles, practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Strong project management skills and experience.
- Leverages business and technical expertise across disciplines, demonstrating a high level of industry knowledge.
- Ability to think strategically as it relates to Information Technology
- Excellent customer service skills |
