Yes, rich, more precisely higher wage earners > $100k since rich is defined by asset not income, paid the same as those who earned $100K. However, they get the same pay check as those who earned $100K, no more extra benefit. Why should people who earned their money hard way (these are all earned income, not investment income) be forced to pay for other people's benefit? is this not wealth distribution or 社会主义?
Yes, our government forced you to pay for these taxes. That's why you should demand our government not to force you into it instead of asking the government to tax more to fill the gap!
You would never get it. Why should there is a GAP? Why should the GAP to be $100K something? Why should I pay to it when I know I would not get what I pay back. As far as the high income folks also pay SS without the GAP, There will be NO GAP for their retiring income! However, do you know the SS benefit formula? It is not LINEAR! A would get more back if A paid more than B, but how much more?
Just as an example, A makes $20K a year, and pay $3000 a year to SS he would get $1000 a month after retire. B makes $100K a year and paid $15000 to SS a year, he would get $1500 a month after retire. That means B paid 5 times as A into SS but he only get 50% more back than A.
I hope you are smarter enough to understand what I said here. |
