需换 热水器（water heater)？

俩个报价的人没给我打电话。我也没他们的号码。那东西 130lb。一个人自己搬不动，太太不给力因是出租房。 I just changed the drain valve myself. It cost $7 from Home depot. 热水器还可用一阵。再谢谢老夫。

it is easy to change that yourself in using shark-bite hose to connect the water heater with water pipes. You need 2 people to take out the old one and put a new one there.

it is not really heavy compared with washer/dryer & cooking range. i am not a big man but, i moved the new one [in box] into minivan & took out by myself ---just use a moving dolly same as this: [ http://car-tow-dolly.com/evolution-from-hand-carts-to-appliance-dollies/ ] ----put the handle on rear bump then, slide it in or out. i left the old one to the driveway & posted a "free taking non-working; non-leaking water heater" on craigslist. it disappeared in 2 hours!
BTW, i didnt use the shark-bite hose yet even though heard about it. will try when have chance.

xie-xie again. The water heater is 15 years old. It indeed needs a new one. Changing the drain value only works for a short time. Other places may leak soon. In the coming months, I plan to replace with old one by myself following your suggestion by using dolly. I did replaced a dish-washer before which is 95 lb. I also fixed a dryer's timer($80) last year.

wow, you are really a handyman! did more than me. i only replaced the belt of dryer 2-3 years ago after watching DIY video online. but, be honestly, the dishwasher might not easy to move compared with water heater.

because of the weight, dishwasher is easy to be replaced. It does not need dolly which will help. Home-depot only charge $100 for the installation. Water Heater's installation charge will be $300 + some additional for for so-called building code. eg. extra water tank.
If some-one need help on dishwasher, I can help.

I took the old one home and repaired it. I can sell it on craigslist but I leave it in my basement in case i need it for other rentals. As I am not a professional, it takes time for me to fix the problem. For the rental, I normally replace a good one there and repair the broken one later. I fixed a lot of different things through googling and guessing.

我偏爱换电线的，煤气弄不好，漏了麻烦！其实装起来比煤气的快，水管直接改成CPVC的！
