喜欢听故事是吧，从小我就喜欢讲故事，谁知几十年后的今天，在美国反而讲起中文故事了！

记得刚把文章放上去的第二天清晨，我的一个客人就打电话给我，还很激动的那种，说喜欢看，还建议我把她的房的故事也讲一讲，她买的是个SHORT SALE，折腾了7个多月才搞定。。

SHORT SALE每个情况都不尽相同，某个人的例子不见得代表普遍的规律，是不是有意义？可能大家不一定关心或爱看。

谢谢冬青鼓励，很佩服您们这些green thumb, 我对种东西的方面一点都不开窍，记得一次有一个朋友要送我一盆什么花，还叮咛我别给糟蹋了，还说他化了两年的时间培养出来的，我一听死活不敢要，怕到了我手给弄"牺牲"了。

So renting house business is not pleasant business. If you want to have pain, you can buy a old ugly house to rent to those who could not pay. Your trouble is endless.

Why do not use your money to something else, other than buy those old cheap houses?

Real estate can be a great investment if you are smart about it.
There are lots of different ways to invest in real estate. Some real estate investments can be good, others can be terrible.
Same holds true with the stock market. Some stocks are good, some turn out to be very bad.
Your best bet might be to diversify your investments or get into mutual funds with diversified investments.
If you manage real estate yourself, it is not really a passive investment like many other investments. It can require a lot of work and cause a lot of headaches. There are also lots of holding costs associated with owning real estate.
Still, real estate is an investment which can be profitable and it can be more under your control, more than the stock market.

In the end, only you can decide what is your best investment strategy.

买投资房不等于买烂房子啊。
我还知道有大户专门买半米以上的豪宅做投资呢，他们主要是为了市场升温后转手的。不大计较租金回报。
没有足够资金的话，也可以看看状态好的小房型，回报低点，但是不会跟烂房客打交道，没有那么多头疼。
为了不让投资房变成头疼房，建议不要只看便宜，一定要看看房子所在的区域，知道以后的目标房客会是什么样的群体。
