Every time when I see my kids and other Chinese kids struggling with the fact that someone much less qualified in their school got in a school which they didn’t get, my heart hurts.  I felt guilty that I pass the gene to them and it is not their fault to be born as an Asian.  So this is one fight we must  fight together!

真的嗎？孩子越大越會有這種因我們膚色所帶來的不公平嗎？我的孩子還小， 還沒有這麼強烈的感同身受，今後可是要有心理準備了。 謝謝你的回复。

think about this scenario, your kid who has 2300+ SAT score, top 1% ranking with all the leadership, extra curriculums didn't get into a school he/she applied and another kid has a 1900+ SAT, ranked only top 15% without any other things got in just because he/she is black.  When your kids was crying and asking you if this is fair, how would you feel?  

If life, you don't feel bad if you give your 100% and lost to a better candidate.  But you do feel violated if you lost because your color of skin!

Glad your kids are still young, hopfully, if we keep fighting this and they don't have worry about the affirmative action whey they apply their schools and jobs.

是啊， 是聽到在北邊的好高中的家長對自己排名第一，鋼琴也在州裡拿第一， 各類學科比賽狂拿第一的兒子上哈佛或MIT都不報希望。 他們說亞裔的男孩最難進藤校， 儘管你各方面都很優秀。

　　三名华裔州参议员余胤良、刘璇卿（Carol Liu）及刘云平（Ted Lieu）今天将发表联合声明，公布在参议院获得通过的在公立大学招生考虑种族因素的加州宪法修正案SCA5，将不会交至众议院审议表决，而且日后会举办公听会，听取华人对此议题的诉求 。
　　州参议院上月通过由民主党州参议员贺南德兹（Ed Hernandez）提出的SCA5法案，内容涉及于加州公校入学实施平权法案（Affirmative Action），将推翻1996年通过的加州第209号提案的部分内容，重新允许公立高校在入学招生时考虑学生的种族、性别、族裔等因素。

　　据悉修宪案一旦通过，有可能令加大（UC）亚裔学生的比例减少近三分之二。

　　消息传出后，华人社区反对声音不断，很多家长忧虑冲击亚裔子女入读公立大学的机会，更有批评这是逆向歧视。
