Most of my reels are zebco, my first rod as a kid was a
zebco 33 and it lasted for years, and I fish 2-3 times a
week. Usually catch catfish, bass, crappy, brim etc.
For those looking to to pick this up and run with it...
Here is what i keep with me to go fishing:
Backpack - snacks, first aid kit, flashlight, batteries,
shorts (water sure looks refreshing and its nice to be
able to go change in the bushes) sunscreen, hat, toe
nail clippers for trimming the line. a pocket knife,
pliers (long nose for pulling the hook out of the fish),
a couple bottles of water
Basic tackle i would bring...
Rod and reel, hooks, a couple bobbers, some split shot
weights, a stringer if you plan to keep the fish.
Fishing license, and your bait, i prefer live bait, big
ol nightcrawlers for bank fishing.
I also like to take with me a walking stick (I've run
into a few water moccasins in my time that I was glad i
had a stick with to beat down. it's rare depending on
where your fishing - I'm 39 and only run into 2 snakes
while fishing that wanted a piece of me but its good to
be prepared.
Oh and if your keeping the fish, a plastic bag/tarp or
something to transport the fishing for the drive home. |
