It is out of my imagination when people think Rich people in this country paid too much tax. The tax rate for rich people in this country is much lower than Reagon years and is much lower than average citizens like you and me..

Romney make $13 millions and he paid 14% effective rate.  How much you and I pay? I do not know how much your paid but I checked my 2011 tax return, I paid about 19% of effective rate. I also have to about 15% of Social Security Tax. That is a total of 34% which is more than 2.4 times of what Romney paid. Am I rich? No, I am just a regular hard working employee!

Do not tell me that part of the Social Security is paid by my employer. I earned that. If I did not work, my employer would not pay it for me.

Do not tell me I would get the money back when I retire. I may get a small portion of it back but much of it goes to people who make lowe salary than I do. Why do not those rich people contribute to Social Security?

It make me very sad when I saw us well educated Chinese people here do not understand thos simple numbers. We  are supposed to be good at numbers.

这只能说个别中国人太“聪明”了。米国人“太傻”太诚实。不能把中国人的聪明归罪于政府。

I would vote for Romney as far as he pays the same tax rate I pay.

这种只想获取不想贡献，只想享受权利不想履行义务的“聪明”，正是今日中国道德败坏的原因之一。（有些中国人在入美籍这个问题上也采取同样的态度--只想享受美国公民的好处，不想为美国社会回报。在中美冲突时，居然吃里扒外，背弃誓言，站在中国一方。）

我们在美国居住的华人，都有义务谴责并制止这种卑鄙行为。

The way you put it gives people the impression that he's doing it for his self-interest, at least partially.  You can criticize his policies.  You can question his sympathy or lack thereof for the poor. But I think you went a little too far to insinuate his motive.  I have no doubt that he thinks sincerely that he's policy is the best for the economy and the country, not just the rich.

No body runs for president so that he can get a lower tax rate.  If he wants more money, there are better ways.
