I congratulate Mr. Guan for stepping up and representing the Chinese/Asian communities. Though I cannot recall seeing Mr. Guan being active in our Chinese community affairs the last 10 years or so. That being said, it is important that Mr.Guan understands the needs of the Atlanta Chinese communities and he really needs to establish his identity and branding. What does he stand for? While it is important to address the needs of the Chinese communities, it is also critical that Mr. Guan addresses how the Chinese can benefit main stream Atlanta communitities as a whole in incorporating our ideas and belief. I urge Mr. Guan to talk to various leaders of the Chinese communities (friends and enemies too) and concentrate on keys issues that will shape up our communities. Hats off to Mr. Guan and it is only through a better understanding of your idealogies and belief that we will wholeheartedly stand behind such great milestone!
While I support Guan for testing political waters, I have reservations about his judgement. The political party of his choosing that is. Republicans have moved far to the right. Does Guan really believe what Republicans believe? Answer is yes? Are you serious?
