Can a sponsor (child) be the translator for the parent's Green Card interview? I have called the USCIS customer service. They told me it is up to the local office to decide who can be the translator. Not sure if the Atlanta office allows the child or a relative to be the translator.
pull a INFO PASS ticket online to question a Atlanta officer face to face write down the guy's number to back up his answer and then you will be fine.
If your English is good, then you can be your parents translater. I did 7-7-2010.
Make sure you go throught the forms yourself and tranlate the questions into English.
Good prepareation is a must.
Sponsor is the best candidate for the interview translator. No need to ask anybody. Just go with your parents.
The interview is very easy to pass. You all will be asked to stand up, raise your right hand and pledge (promise) that you will tell the truth and then sit down to answer questions. Major thing is to verify the information on form i-485 and other questions like your parents' other children's name, where are they now, have your parents worked in us.
